1. Who we are
MPL Technologies Limited (trading as MPL Digital) is a digital consultancy in the United Kingdom, company number 17085377, registered at Unit 1 Abbots Quay, Monks Ferry, Birkenhead, CH41 5LH. Our website is mpldigital.co.uk. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
For anything relating to your personal data, including the rights set out in section 7, contact us at dpo@mpldigital.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
When you submit an enquiry we collect the name, email address, and any company name, phone number and message you choose to give us. That is all stored securely and used solely to respond to your enquiry.
We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not ask for any special category data.
3. Why we collect it
To reply to your enquiry and, if it leads somewhere, to carry out the work you ask us to do. The lawful basis is your consent, which the form asks for explicitly and records along with the enquiry, including the version of this policy you agreed to. You can withdraw it at any time using the contact details in section 8.
We do not use enquiry data for marketing without asking you separately and clearly.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiries are reviewed and deleted two years after the last contact. That review is carried out by hand rather than by an automatic process, so if you want your enquiry removed sooner, ask and we will do it.
Deletion is permanent rather than a hidden flag: the record is erased. We keep a note that a deletion happened, with your email address stored only as an irreversible hash, so we can evidence that the request was actioned without keeping the thing you asked us to remove. Backups are taken daily and kept for seven days, so a backup made before your request may still hold the record for up to a week afterwards.
If an enquiry becomes a project, the associated records are kept for six years to meet accounting and legal obligations.
5. Where your data is stored, and who processes it
Enquiry data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the europe-west4 region (Netherlands), within the EEA.
We use Resend to deliver enquiry notification emails, and Sentry (EU region) for error monitoring. Sentry receives technical diagnostics about faults, not enquiry content.
The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than an automated script. To do that Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical signals from your browser. It does not receive what you write in the form, and it does not set advertising cookies.
We do not sell or share your personal data, and we do not transfer it to third parties for marketing or advertising.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website uses only essential cookies, required for the site to work, such as the authentication session for our admin area.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not fingerprint you by IP address, browser or any other means, so it collects nothing that identifies you and requires no consent. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies at all.
If we ever adopt analytics that do set cookies or identify visitors, this policy will be updated in the same change and you will be asked for consent before any such cookie is set.
We store two small preferences in your browser: your theme choice and your text size. These are held in local storage rather than cookies, contain no personal data, and never leave your device.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you raised it with us first, but you do not have to.
8. Contact us
For data protection matters, including access, correction, deletion or a complaint, email dpo@mpldigital.co.uk. We aim to respond within a few working days, and in any case within the one month the law allows.
For anything else, hello@mpldigital.co.uk or the contact form is the quicker route.
